Place a want ad

Buy, sell, rent or give away something local, in up to 40 words. A person reads every ad before it runs in the next Wednesday issue. The paper is words only; a photo or a Facebook link shows as a small (photo) or (Marketplace Link) link in your ad, never as a picture or an address in the paper.

$2.50 an issue for up to 25 words; $4 for 26 to 40 words. Add-ons: a photo $2, a link to your Facebook Marketplace listing $1, a bold first line $1. You pay by card on the screen after this one and Stripe emails your receipt. Paying confirms the ad is yours; it runs once a person has read it.

Local pickup only. Pickup in Pulaski County and the Lake Cumberland area. We do not ship, and we are not a party to any sale.

Stay safe. Meet in daylight at a busy public lot, or pick up at the seller's home, in person. Never send money or a deposit before you have seen the item or property. Never pay by gift card, wire or crypto. We do not verify sellers or what they describe. Report anything that looks wrong using the Report button.

Safe exchange spots. The Walmart lot on Washington Drive (177 Washington Dr) and the Kroger lot on South Highway 27 (181 S Highway 27), and churches listed on the safe spots page. These are public parking lots; the stores are not part of this service and do not supervise exchanges.

Not accepted: firearms, ammunition or explosives; live animals, except rehoming a pet you already have; adult services; alcohol, tobacco, vaping or prescription drugs; payday loans, debt relief, crypto or investment offers; multi-level marketing or "work from home" offers; political campaign or ballot measure ads; tickets above face value; anything that states a preference for or against people by race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, familial status or other protected class. Rental ads carry the Equal Housing Opportunity statement.

How it works: Stripe charges your card $20 today and again each month until you cancel. The line first runs in the next Wednesday issue after a person reads it, then in every issue. To change the wording or to cancel, email [email protected]; a cancelled line runs to the end of the month already paid.

Send the ad. The card page comes next (Stripe emails the receipt). Paying confirms the ad is yours.
A person reads it. Ads in by Monday 11 AM run in Wednesday's issue.
It runs one issue, Wednesday through the next Tuesday. Place it again for another week.
If it cannot run under our rules, we refund it in full and tell you why.
